Born in the East of England, Janet sold her first drawing at the age of 15.  Later, after her son was born she agreed to accompany her aunt to a local watercolour group and ever since, she has painted whenever time has permitted. Janet and her family relocated in 2001 to the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands), which is known as the 'island of eternal spring' due to it's wonderful climate year round.

The semi tropical surroundings and light in Tenerife opened Janet's eyes anew to the colours around her and she decided she could  capture this in French dyes on silk.  She researched the subject on the internet and in the process found, not only a wonderful group of fellow silk painters, but a whole new 'family' of  watercolour artists. 

Over the last few years the input of her online artistic friends have helped Janet to develop her skills in both watercolour and silk painting for which she is eternally grateful.
